Old Legends Revamped.

Meet, Teachy Hollow.

A poor S.O.B. stuck teaching middle school brats. As if his life hadn't been shitty enough, he was decapitated during a freak pep rally accident. Finally released from his hellish lifestyle, he's come back to wreak havok on the dirty little terrors that made his life a living hell. Payback's a bitch.

A friend and I were discussing old myths and legends today. As a kid who grew up loving comics and stories of all types, it was the real outlandish or sensational stories that hooked me the most. The Sleepy Hollow story was one that always enthralled me. At it's core, it was a big scary dude on horseback who was out for other peoples heads. What's there that's not to love? Love him or hate him, The Headless Horseman is the basis for todays sketch.

I think this is an idea I may revisit in the future, as I had a blast drawing this up. Re-imagining old or classic characters can be tons o' fun. Unfortunately, I've no time for a "blog"-ish post for now, but I wanted to make sure I got a sketch up. If there's anyone out there that's even seen this at this point, I hope you enjoy it!

Whelp, here goes . . .

This is a project that I've wanted to start for some time now. The concept is pretty simple. Daily (I hope), I intend to put up a post and a sketch or two. Sometimes the sketches may be quick scribbles, other times they may be complete works. The idea is just that I actually start drawing on a regular basis.

Now that all the introductory shit is out of the way, let's get to the good stuff.

Does anyone else feel that there just isn't enough time in the day to get shit done? I mean, I'm a single parent, who works a full-time job. After work, and tending to my daughter, I generally get maybe an hour or two to myself to do whatever I want. I have tons of hobbies and things that I'm into, and cramming them into a 2 hour time slot just isn't happening. The worst part of it is that I generally spend the first hour of my "free time" deciding what I'm going to do with my free time.

Should I play guitar?
Read that book I'm only halfway through?
Write?
Play a game?

Half of the time I just end up vegging out in front of the tube. Maybe it's a lack of drive, or focus. Perhaps I'm just exhausted from everything else I had to deal with throughout the day. Whatever the case may be, I have a tough time balancing life enough to get some of that all-important "me time". The real bitch is that if I could just focus on one of the hobbies enough to become proficient, they'd allow me a better job with better pay, and far more free time to get things worked out.

Alright, enough rambling. Here's the sketch for the day.

It pretty much sums up how I felt today. I was exhausted at work, so instead of working, I reflected on the problems I've had with life lately. Hope you enjoy it, catch you tomorrow.
